Laminating and direct printing
Time pixels printed on poster paper, laminated on MDF boards
A loud "tick-tock" accompanies the viewer throughout the exhibition, reminding them, like a little man knocking in their head, that time is inexorably ticking away and needs to be used (note: see photos to browse through in this article). With this impression in mind, the first station leads us to the "time pixels". Small groups of 2, 3 and 4 children's portraits in 21 x 21 cm format show their development over the years. The artist Helena Heilig opted for a different style for the design. Print on poster, laminated on an MDF board. Nothing could be easier, WENZEL offers this service in its extensive portfolio and was happy to be the technical partner for this interesting project.
Photos with the Camera Obscura printed on Alu Dibond
Turning to the right, the photographer presented another, completely different approach to the theme of time: photos with the Camera Obscura (more information on this camera here). The long-term shots depicted several moments at once, so to speak, for example a passing bus at Königsplatz was "captured". The technical realization here? Direct printing on Alu-Dibond panelswhich radiate a very distinguished and elegant touch due to their black core. The visual impression was flanked by a sound recording, for example several "seconds at Königsplatz", which was available for each photo via headphones.
The Arabellas: Delivered art paper mounted on Alu Dibond
The third part consisted of an elaborate photo project with residents of the Arabellahaus in Arabellapark. A colorful mixture of young and old were captured by Helena Heilig and each told their own story about how they came to move into the house, what they appreciate about it, etc. WENZEL was also able to help with the technical implementation here: The prints were delivered in advance and sent to our experts for Mounting on Alu Dibond given. The result was impressive: Borderless and perfectly laminated art prints.
And the coffee to stay?
In addition to these pictorial representations, the Munich-based artist also showed works by friends from Berlin who wanted to depict the theme of "deceleration". Here, the coffee to go stands for rushing, speed, drinking in passing. The coffee to stay, on the other hand, chained to a cast iron ball, stands for a short break, a pause, even if it's just for a coffee. You can take the two minutes, the stressful everyday life will forgive you.
