Analog photos are created by chemical reactions
Analog images are created by chemical reactions. The final steps are the fixing bath and a final soaking. However, color photographs in particular are not made "archive-proof" in this way. This means that the chemical substances continue to react over the years and decades. When looking at photographs from past decades, red stains are often visible. Although there are suitable storage options, including airtight packaging in a freezer (the cooler the better), this does not provide any real protection against deterioration.
Scanning photos: It's not that easy
Scanning photos is a good way to save them for the digital world. However, not all pictures are the same and not all scanners are the same. One is ideal for the Digitize of slides, the next for scanning paper photos. Such a device is expensive and can only be resold at a loss after use. Borrowing is also expensive, especially if you need it again after a few months or years.
Have recordings digitized(!)
WENZEL offers the solution: extensive machinery and experts who know how to use it. After all, the correct settings can only be made once a few questions have been answered in advance. For example: Will the photos only be used for viewing on a PC? Or will the photos perhaps be printed in large format in the future? Our scan programs also carry out the most important color corrections themselves, such as removing red tints. This means that you don't need expensive software or to familiarize yourself with third-party programs.
Scan photos in high and low volumes
By the way, it doesn't matter whether you scan photos or slides, old films or other media and digitize want to have. WENZEL is equipped for everything and is also happy to accept orders for small quantities. Attractive conditions are guaranteed.
